| Applications: | Pentasize 8 is an alkenylsuccinic anhydride (ASA) neutral sizing agent for use in the paper and board industry. The product is supplied as an amber coloured liquid of 100% active content. ASA products are non-ionic in nature and will therefore need to be emulsified on site prior to use on the board or paper machine. Pentasize 8 must be emulsified with cationic starch or polymers prior to use and this is best achieved by the use of an in-line shear mixer system. The product is effective over a pH range of 4.0 - 9.0. Retention of the product can be readily secured by the appropriate choice of retention system. | |
| Storage and Handling: | Pentasize 8 is best stored in a very dry place with adequate ventilation, and kept away from sparks and flames. Storage temperatures should not exceed 40°C to minimise colour degradation. The product may be contained in stainless steel or GRP vessels. | |
