Polyquat SFN

(Polyquaternary ammonium compound in water)
 
Polyquat SFN is a special fixing agent, free of formaldehyde, for direct and reactive dyestuffs on cellulose fibers and their mixtures

General Properties: Polyquat SFN is a post-treatment product which improves stability to water, sweat, washing and wet ironing. Polyquat SFN is formaldehyde-free The use of Polyquat SFN does not affect stability of the treated dyestuffs towards light The use of Polyquat SFN imparts certain colour stability to heat Polyquat SFN can be applied in one bath, combined with cationic and non-ionic softeners Polyquat SFN has virtually no effect on the feel of the material to touch Polyquat SFN can be added to the treatment baths on the non-shrinking finishing. However, depending upon the nature of the catalyst used and the ionic character of the resins in the formulation, it may be necessary to perform prior treatment Polyquat SFN allows/enables "rongeant" stamping after it has been applied
 
Applications:               Direct dyestuff formulations:
  • Exhaustive Process
  • For full-shade dyeing, it is particularly recommended to wash the cloth with Auxidet RD at 30°C before treatment with Polyquat SFN, in order to obtain optimal results.
  • Dosage: 1 - 3 % Polyquat SFN based on weight of material. The dosage can be reduced for medium-shade dyeings. 1% Polyquat SFN based on the material weight is sufficient, if only an improvement of wet stability, or an anti-migration effect during drying are the goals of the treatment. Application time is 15 - 20 minutes at 30°C.
  • Continuous Process
  • For the "Foulard/rame" process, the recommended concentration is 5 -10 g/l of Polyquat SFN. (Foulard bath is held at room temperature and ca. pH 7).
Reactive dyestuff formulations:
  • Exhaustive Process:
    With washed material after dyeing, from:
    2 g/l Auxidet RD 20 minutes boiling
    Then, fixing takes place in a new bath:
    2% Polyquat SFN Neutral pH bath
    15 minutes 40/50°C
    Drain and dry
  • Reduction and elimination of the fixing agent:
2 g/l

 Na0H (38 ° Be)
4 g/l
 Auxidet RD
4 ml/l
 H202 (200 vol)
  • Boil for 60 minutes, then rinse and neutralise with acetic acid at 20°C for 10 minutes.
